The Abingdon Crafts Festival
19th - 22nd and 25th -
28th OCTOBER 2007
Daily from 10am to 5pm.
MEDIEVAL ABBEY BUILDINGS, ABINGDON, OXON.
These ancient buildings, the outbuildings of the abbey, are all that remains of the
great complex of Abingdon Abbey, which was destroyed by Henry VIII in the 16th century.
They provide an excellent backdrop for a craft event and have been the venue for an annual
show for the last 29 years. The Abingdon Crafts Festival is really two
4 day events, the
show being closed for two days in the middle when most of the exhibitors change. There are
refreshments and singers and musicians in period costume add to the ambience with periodic
performances from the theatre balcony and galleries.
The Abingdon Craft and Design Fair provides a relaxed and
hassle free opportunity to purchase something special for yourself or your
family. You will be amazed at what is on offer, such a variety of
beautiful and unique products, relax over a cup of tea in our cafe while you
make your decision.
Quality is our hallmark with craftspeople and the general public
and we strive to maintain this reputation by seeking exhibitors
who display the highest standards of workmanship and originality.
We also seek to promote an understanding and appreciation of
craft skills by actively encouraging demonstrators.
On the map you will find that the Abbey Buildings are
accessible from Checker Walk off Abbey Close and Thames Street off Bridge Street.
